EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM OFFERS FREE TRAINING TO FAMILY VIOLENCE VICTIMS

“Victims cannot escape the abuse in their lives if they do not have economic security or at least the means to create it.”  These words from the State Plan serve to remind us that merely assisting victims in locating employment does not achieve self-sufficiency.  If basic employment skills are limited, so are the resulting wages.  Panhandle Crisis Center offers a free, comprehensive employment-training program for current or former victims of family violence.  Through this training, victims will have the opportunity to move from the ranks of the unemployed or working poor to qualified applicants eligible for employment which offers increased financial security and promotes the ultimate goal of safety, self-sufficiency, and long-term independence from family violence.   Contact us today for more information about accessing this free training.

Our Operating

Philosophy

 We are here to LISTEN…

            Not to work miracles.

We are here to HELP women DISCOVER  what they are  FEELING...

Not to make feelings go away.

We are here to HELP women IDENTIFY their OPTIONS…

Not to decide for them what they should do.

We are here to DISCUSS STEPS with women…

Not to take the steps for them.

We are here to help women DISCOVER their own STRENGTHS…

Not to rescue them and leave them still vulnerable.

We are here to HELP women DISCOVER they can help themselves…

Not to take responsibility for them.

We are here to HELP WOMEN LEARN TO CHOOSE…

Not to keep them from making difficult choices.

WE ARE HERE TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR CHANGE.
